We took Evan for his 6 month pictures last week...here are a few below. We decided to do a few Christmas pictures as well.

We went to New York to visit Auntie Bev, Uncle Martin and Cousin Ben 2 weeks ago. We had a great time walking around the city and just hanging out.

It's Fall

Sorry it has been a while since I blogged, yet again...David has been working a lot of hours and with Evan being more active...I am quite busy lately.

Evan began rolling over from his back to his stomach a few weeks ago...over the last week, he can now roll from his stomach to his back. So, that is quite exciting...he ends up all over his crib at night now.

Last week we started pureed foods. Started with rice cereal, but he was not a huge fan, so we moved to Sweet Potatoes, then Peas, then Carrots, and Bananas this morning (his first time having breakfast). He eats a good amount of rice cereal too, as long as he has some other choices with it. His first few days did not go so well, but now he is eating like a pro...he opens his mouth for each bite :-)

Evan turns 5 months next week. We are not scheduled for a doctors appointment, but I will try to measure and weigh him myself.

In his new favorite toy-exersaucer!! He loves it...thansk to TaTa Carole who gave it to his cousins and Auntie Melissa who then gave it to Evan.

First time eating...he was not so sure about it.

His other new toy, the jump and go. It hangs in the doorway and he can sit in it and bounce...he hasn't quite figured out the bouncing part yet, but he likes to walk around in circles.

In the Bumbo...we are working on this...he still flops around a bit.

4 Months Old

So, Evan turns 4 months old today...it is amazing how quickly time flies by and how big he is getting. We went to the doctor on monday for his check-up and he now weighs 14 lbs 1 oz and is 26 inches long. He loves to talk and is making many different noises. He loves to smile and will laugh from time to time. He is also rolling from his back to his stomach with ease, although is unable to get back.

Thankfully, he is still sleeping through the night, except for the occasional wake-up lately because he rolls on to his stomach in his sleep and wakes up. He is usually on his tummy when he gets up in the morning now and seems content, so must not mind it too much.

Busy (But Fun) Weekend

Sorry it has been so long since I blogged...I was trying to get Evan into a routine after David's parents left and before I went back to work, so have been busy. Below are some new pics.

Today we went to the doctor for Evan's 3 month follow-up: he now weighs 12 lbs 13 oz which is great and is 25 inches long. He is 50% for weight, but 90% for length. So, his doctor said that he will probably be tall...I guess he will take after his TonTon Jamey.

I started back at work this week on tuesday and Evan started at daycare. I think it was harder for me than for Evan. I cried most of my first morning back when no one was looking. Evan did very well at daycare-ate well, took some good naps, and didn't cry much.

Evan gave his mamma a good gift this last week. Last night was his 6th night in a row sleeping through the night. He goes down to bed between 7:30 and 8:30 pm and has been sleeping until 6:30 to 7:30 am without waking up. I only hear minimal fussing occasionally during the night and he goes right back to sleep. He wakes up happy with a smile on his face. Much nicer to wake up to a happy baby instead of a screaming baby. Let's hope this lasts.

Evan trying to roll over. He can get to his side pretty easily. He moves around a lot at night...we often find him at least 90 degrees turned from where he started.

At 12 weeks old. We are going to start taking pics in this chair, probably once a month, so we can monitor his growth (Jenna gave me this great idea as she has done this weekly with her 2 kids).

Back to regular sleep

So, the 6 hour sleep period was a one night deal. The last 2 nights he has been back to getting up at about 1:00/1:30 and then again around 4:00 before getting up for the day at 6:00/6:30. He has not been sleeping well during the day and so that is probably not helping as he seems to sleep much better at night if he naps well during the day.

Good Night's Sleep

Evan slept from 10 pm until 4:20 am last night...his longest stretch ever. I almost couldn't believe it when I woke up to him wimpering at 4:20...I was so excited. He then went back to sleep after eating and woke up at his normal waking time of 6:30. Let's see if it happens again tonight and the next night...if so I will be a happy mamma.
