Turning 30...

I celebrated my 30th birthday on saturday. We had a nice party/BBQ at our house with friends and family. Evan surprised me with the flowers in this picture...he picked them out himself (with some help from daddy I suppose).

So, Evan finally likes his swing. He would go in it before once he was already pretty much sleeping...but now can go in it awake and fall asleep. So, occasionally we get some time not holding him. Yeah! Above is him sleepig in his swing.

No sleeping in this house...

Evan is doing much better in terms of sleeping in his crib. He nows sleeps in his crib all night, so we took the co-sleeper out of our room This is not to say that he actually sleeps "all night" because he still only sleeps about 1 1/2 to 2 hours at a time. Needless to say, I am quite tired. I am hoping that as he gets bigger, he will be able to go longer in between feedings and sleep longer at a time.
Otherwise, we are well...looking forward to having David home again the next 2 weeks. Then, David's parents will be here for a few weeks. So, lots of help for me YEAH!
Tomorrow is a big day for me...the big 3-0...I always said I would like to have my first child by 30, so can check that off the to do list :-)

Big Boy

So, I took Evan to the doctor 2 days ago because he has been spitting up a lot more lately when he eats and also seems much more aggitated when he eats and pretty much throughout the day. The doctor agreed with me that he probably has acid reflux and started him on a medication for that. We haven't really seen a major improvement yet...but will hope so.

The good news is that he is gaining weight much faster than we expected. He now weights 8 lbs. 15 oz. which is up from 7 lbs. 7 oz only 2 week ago. So, we are very happy about that.

Cranky Baby

So yesterday and today have been interesting...Evan went from sleeping at least 4-5 hours broken up throughout the day (so I could at least eat and get minor things done around the house) to not wanting to nap at all. He wants to be held constantly, otherwise he cries (screams actually)...so we need to work on that.

On the upside, he slept the last 2 nights in his crib...YEAH! There was of course some protest, but he did good 2-3 hour stretches of sleep. Although I missed looking over in the middle of the night and seeing him next to me, I enjoyed the much more quality sleep I was getting. Lets hope we can keep this up, and by THIS I mean the sleeping good at night, not the NOT sleeping during the day :-)

Although the last few days have been hard, he is still the cutest thing I have ever seen (in a close second are all of my adorable nephews :-)

I will post pics again soon...need to clear up some memory on my camera first.

Daddy is back to work...

So, today David went back to work after being home for 2 weeks. It was nice to have him home to help out with bedtime and morning routine so that I could get some extra sleep. I missed that today, because Evan woke up around 5:45 when David was getting ready for work and pretty much was up straight (mostly crying) until 11:15 when I finally got him to sleep. He is currently still sleeping, but we will see how long that lasts.
Hopefully the rest of the day will be a bit better :-)

Quiet...Sleeping baby!

He is so sweet when he sleeps...which is not too often lately :-) Here are a few of my favorite sleeping pics...first one is with Pepe (grandpa in French for those who do not know).
Love those bigs lips (he gets those from daddy)

Just a few cute pictures...

Evan outside for his first sunny day (we had friends over for a BBQ). It was so sunny, he had to borrow daddy's shades.

Pictures-finally

2 week doctors appointment

Yesterday we took Evan for his 2 week old appointment. We were very excited to find ou that he is now 7 lbs. 7 oz. So he gained 1 lb. 2 oz. The doctor was very happy.

Also, 2 nights ago we tried moving him to his crib for bedtime (he is currently sleeping in a co-sleeper bassinet attached to our bed)...he was not having the crib idea. He would fall asleep in our arms and as soon as we would put him in his crib and let go of him, he would start screaming. Eventually after multiple tries, it was back into the co-sleeper. We will probably take a break for now and try again when David is off work again in a few weeks.

I will post some pictures a bit later on today, I promise.
